An Intro of Agra

Though Agra is a small city in itself but it consists of endless things to be mentioned. The story of incredible India is not complete without Agra; rather no visit to India is complete unless it includes Agra. This is because the first wonder of the world ‘Taj Mahal’ is situated in Agra, it is also known as the symbol of Love. Agra plays a vital role in Indian History. It used to be the capital of India in the era of great Mughal Empror Akbar. Therefore, there are many historical monuments like Mariam Tomb, Agra Fort, and Itmad-ud-daulah, Chini Ka Rauza other than Taj Mahal. Being adorned by these many places Agra is famous as tourist place and therefore, there are numbers of hotels catering to the needs of people from all the standards and from every walk of life. Mughal Sheraton, Jaypee Palace, Trident Hotels, Amar Villas, Clark’s Shiraj join the list of five star hotels including many other hotels. All these hotels are near Taj as well as near Agra Cant Railway Station.

Altitude of Agra is 169 Meters above sea level and its area is 82 sq. km. Basically, three languages are spoken in Agra Hindi, Urdu and English. People of Agra enjoy three seasons every year- Summers (March to June), Rainy Season (July- October), Winters (November to February). Temperature in summers is 21.90 C - 45.00 C, in winters is 4.20 C - 31.70 C and rainfall in Agra measures 66cm average yearly. Sometimes it hails in Agra in winters.
